FermPal is a web app for tracking homemade ferments: water kefir, kombucha, ginger beer, beer, cider, mead… It manages your ingredient stock, your recipes (versioned, BeerXML import included), phase-by-phase batch tracking, AI recipe generation and your shopping list.
FermPal is an independent product, built in Switzerland. It's not a big-company brand and it's not affiliated with any AI provider — just a tool made by a fermenter, for fermenters.
No. FermPal runs in the browser and can be installed as an app (PWA) on mobile and desktop. Your data syncs across all your devices, in English and French.
Free is free forever: 20 recipes, 3 active batches at a time, 3 AI recipes per month, the shopping list with restock, and BeerXML import. No credit card required.
Pro unlocks everything: unlimited recipes and batches, extended AI recipe usage, one-click shopping list fill from a recipe's missing ingredients, and all upcoming features.
It costs €4.90/month, or €3.90/month billed annually (€46.80/year — roughly two months free).
Payments are handled by Creem.io, our Merchant of Record: they are the legal seller and take care of billing and international VAT. Your card details never touch FermPal's servers.
In one click, from the “My subscription” page inside the app — no email to send, no questions asked. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period: you keep Pro access until the month or year you already paid for runs out.
On the annual plan, you get a 14-day money-back guarantee from your first purchase: a “Request my refund” button is available on the “My subscription” page during that window — immediate cancellation, full refund, funds within 5–10 business days. Usable once.
On the monthly plan, access starts immediately after payment (so the legal withdrawal right doesn't apply), but you can cancel anytime for the following month.

Describe what you're craving (drink type, volume, inspiration) and pick “from my stock” or freestyle. FermPal then composes a complete recipe, phase by phase (first ferment, second ferment, cold crash…), ready to start as a batch.
Generation relies on third-party language models, currently the Google Gemini API. FermPal is an independent product, not affiliated with Google: AI is a feature of the service, not the service itself.
In line with Google's API terms for paid plans, your requests are not used to train Google's general models.
On Pro, you can generate AI recipes without counting: the only ceiling is a generous anti-abuse cap, sized so it never gets in the way of normal human use. Details are in the Terms.
They're an excellent starting point, but AI can make mistakes. Home fermentation carries real risks (hygiene, container pressure, variable alcohol content): always check a recipe's safety and consistency — AI or not — before you drink the result.
On secure servers located in Europe (Supabase/Vercel infrastructure), with encryption in transit and per-user data isolation. Your data stays yours: it is never sold or shared for commercial purposes.
